Rotorua
The Rotorua region is home to some of the world’s most amazing volcanic activity. Geothermal forces combine in this city to create guyers, mud pools and hot springs that are great for relaxing at the end of the day! Located in the central North Island it is also ideally placed as a stop off if you are venturing between any coastal centers in the North Island.
Rotorua also has a rich cultural background, with a predominant Maori culture that tourists can experience first hand by visiting local maraes and other attractions.
The greater Rotorua region also encompasses some 16 lakes with great trout fishing, walking and mountain bike tracks.
During the Rugby World Cup tournament Rotorua will be hosting teams including the Fijian, Samoan and Irish teams, as well as one qualifier.
